YBLA SEEKS INTERNS FOR CAFAM GRANNY SQUARED

Picture
Yarn Bombing Los Angeles is seeking 1-3 interns to work on the CAFAM Granny Squared project that is installed at the facade of the Craft and Folk Art Museum on the memorial weekend in May and wrap up after we finish our collaboration with Downtown Women's Center on Skid Row around Christmas of this year. Since this is a self produced project, YBLA is unable to offer payment but insight to the inner working of developing and producing a major participatory, multifaceted project.

Yarn Bombing Los Angeles is a knit graffiti collaborative who stages public installations and performances to expand the definition of public art beyond civic art to include self initiated and temporal projects such as yarn bombing. www.yarnbombinglosangeles.com

An ideal YBLA intern would be a reliable, self motivated and enthusiastic individual interested in the dynamics of the work we do, has some art background and willing to take on administrative tasks as well as hands on activity.  Interns would be asked to conduct online research, send & answer emails, make phone calls, manage database,  develop and oversee special tasks that involve all of the above, represent YBLA in public outreach events, sew together granny squares, help install/deinstall work as needed.

Interested parties may apply to YBLA with their resume and a brief cover explaining why they want to intern with YBLA and what they are willing to contribute, what they hope to get out of it, the duration and number hours a week they are available. Our email is yarnbombing18 (at) gmail (dot) com
